Mondays With Megan-Vacation Starts Tomorrow. My Brain Left Today.

Seriously. No. Focus. At this time tomorrow I will be at the airport waiting to board a plane that will take me to Montana and I am so flipping excited. My suitcase isn’t packed, but my Nook is all loaded and ready to go! But I will get to that in a minute. For the past few days I have been wracking my brain, trying to figure out how it has taken me ten years to watch Firefly. Well, I finally drank the Kool-Aid and all I can say is mmmmmmmm….grape. I mean, shiny. I mean, Nathan Fillion. *Sigh* This is my brain right now. Montana and Mal. That’s it. No room for anything else.

You’re welcome. Now, if I you can tear myself yourself away, let’s do It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? Brought to you by Book Journey and Teach Mentor Texts.

My Vacation Plan:

I am sitting out on the skiing this trip (one skiing related torn ACL is totally enough for me) and plan to hang at the lodge and read. We’ll see how much I get through, but I really want to finish A Dance With Dragons. I have to get on my with my life!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

  1. Dash and Lily is a perfect break read. It’ll put you in the holiday spirit.

  2. I second Sarah’s comment. Dash and Lily’s Book of Dares is amazing. It’s smart, fun, literary, and lovely. Good choice!

  3. I LOVE Firefly…I just learned about it about 3 years ago. Now Castle is on TV and every once in a while, they reference Firefly somehow! And my brother dressed up as Mal for Halloween last year:-) Dash and Lily’s Book of Dares was really cute!

  4. LOVE Firefly. And Serenity. And pretty much anything Joss Whedon or Nathan Fillion do. Hmm. I need to get this Dash and Lily book. It sounds fun. Enjoy your break!

  5. I just read Hold Me Closer, Necromancer and really liked it so I am sure I would like Necromancing the Stone. The Walking Dead GN looks interesting too.

  6. I was in the thick of things with the Game of Thrones when I had to abandon Book 3 in light of our bimonthly themes on books about books – and I fell hopelessly in love with Walter Moers and Ray Bradbury, I didn’t have the heart to go back to George RR Martin. Hopefully next month, I’d get to revisit this world and be enchanted all over again. Happy Thanksgiving!
